They will explore different types of cybersecurity, including network, application, information, cloud, mobile, and IoT security. This module also includes a case study on the LinkedIn phishing scam to help them analyze real-world cyber threats and their impact.

The outcome of this module is to learn how the networks that connect organizations and continents together work. You would be exploring the different ways of designing the networks by following best practices in security. Network resilience and redundancy are an emerging trend, and this is something that is covered in this module as well.

Students will learn the core principles that protect digital systems and information. They will explore key concepts such as the CIA Triad, Defense in Depth, and Risk Management. This module also introduces essential cryptographic techniques, including encryption methods and digital signatures, while focusing on the security goals of authentication, authorization, confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Students will learn how to design effective security systems by understanding threat modeling and security controls. They will explore secure software development practices such as input validation, error handling, and secure coding. The module also introduces major cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001, along with an introduction to cyber forensics, covering its processes, types, and its distinction from cybersecurity
